Description:
A private, half-day cultural experience designed for travelers who want something authentic, hands-on, and beautifully Portuguese.
You’ll travel to a small, traditional azulejos studio on the outskirts of Lisbon, where the craft of tile-making is still alive — and where you can learn the basics without it feeling like a tourist class.
With a specialist artisan guiding you step-by-step, you’ll paint your own blue-and-white tile (or choose a different color palette, if available), understand the techniques behind the patterns, and take home a personal piece of Portugal.

This experience works perfectly for couples looking for a refined cultural moment, families who want an interactive activity, or corporate teams seeking a relaxed and creative workshop.

Although everything is private and flexible, this is the standard flow / timeline:

• Pickup from your hotel (Lisbon / Sintra / Cascais). Comfortable private vehicle.
• Scenic drive to a traditional tile studio on the outskirts of Lisbon.
• Welcome & introduction: the history of Portuguese azulejos and how tiles are produced and painted.
• Hands-on workshop (approx. 2h): choose a design, practice brush technique, and paint your own ceramic tile with an artisan.
• Time for photos, browsing studio pieces (optional), and final glaze/finishing explanation.
• Return transfer to your hotel. End of services.

* Workshop duration is approximately 2h. Total experience duration varies depending on pickup location, traffic, and group pace.
* Your hand-painted tile is included as a keepsake. In some studios, kiln firing may require later pickup or shipping (if applicable, we will advise in advance).
* This is a private experience — timings and flow can be adapted to your pace.
* If you wish to extend the workshop, add a second tile, or combine this with a Lisbon/Sintra tour, ask us for a custom upgrade.
