Knight Templars Private Tour – Tomar & Almourol

Step into the Shadows of Medieval Portugal

Follow the footsteps of warriors, monks, and kings on this exclusive full-day private tour to two of Portugal’s most iconic Templar landmarks: the hilltop town of Tomar and the enchanting Almourol Castle, perched on a river island. Just over an hour from Lisbon, this region remains one of the country’s best-kept secrets — a place where medieval legends, Jewish heritage, and Gothic grandeur come to life.

You’ll travel in the comfort of a Mercedes-Benz vehicle with a knowledgeable private driver-guide who will bring centuries of history to life. Explore ancient stone villages, cross rivers by boat, visit hidden quarters, and enjoy panoramic views from castle towers that once protected the lands of the Knights Templar.

History, Mystery, and Timeless Scenery

This tour offers more than just monuments — it’s a journey into Portugal’s medieval soul. You’ll wander through the cobbled streets of Tomar’s Old Town, visit the oldest synagogue in the country, and enjoy a guided tour of the remarkable Convent of Christ, a UNESCO World Heritage site and former stronghold of the Order of the Knights Templar.

Ideal for history lovers and curious travelers alike, this experience combines breathtaking scenery with deep storytelling. And with the flexibility of a private tour, you’ll avoid the crowds and explore each site at your own pace — pausing for a riverside lunch or an extra moment inside a fortress chapel.

Whether you’re drawn by Templar legends, medieval architecture, or simply the beauty of Portugal beyond Lisbon, this tour is a journey worth taking — one that lingers in the imagination long after you return.
