A coast that rewards a smooth arrival
Comporta, Melides and the wider Alentejo coast are known for long beaches, rice fields, pine forests and a slower rhythm than the Lisbon coast. Many American travelers stay in private villas or small hotels here for a week or more. The coast has no major airport of its own, so the arrival plan matters.
Most private flights from the USA land in Lisbon, which accepts all aircraft sizes. From there, the drive south is around an hour and a half to Comporta and a little more to Melides, depending on traffic and the exact address.
From the aircraft to the villa
Where airport rules allow, our driver meets you at the aircraft, otherwise at the private aviation terminal exit. The luggage goes straight into a black Mercedes-Benz chosen for your group and bag count, and you are on the motorway towards the south within minutes of clearing formalities.
Villa addresses on this coast can be hard to find, especially at night along sandy tracks. Please share the exact location or a map pin and any gate codes or caretaker contacts in advance, so the driver reaches the door without searching.
Choosing the vehicle
Couples with light luggage travel comfortably in a Mercedes-Benz E-Class. For families or friends with beach gear and long-stay bags, a Mercedes-Benz V-Class or Sprinter is usually the better fit. If the group brings many suitcases, we can add a separate vehicle for luggage on arrival day.
Some guests also ask us to stop at a supermarket or a bakery on the way, so the villa is stocked for the first evening. Let us know beforehand and we include it in the timing.
Days out from the coast
Once settled, the coast is a good base for calm day trips. Evora, with its historic center and Roman temple, is a little over an hour inland. Hilltop villages such as Monsaraz overlook the Alqueva lake. Closer to the coast, the fishing harbor of Sines and the beaches further south make easy half days.
Wine lovers can spend a day in the Alentejo wine country with a single winery visit, a long lunch and time to enjoy the landscape. We plan realistic drive times and leave free afternoons for the beach.
A driver for evenings and restaurants
Restaurants along this coast are spread out, and many guests would rather not drive country roads after dinner. A driver at disposal for selected evenings means everyone can relax, and the return to the villa is simple.

To plan, share the arrival airport and time, the tail number and handling agent if known, the number of guests and bags, the exact villa location with access notes, and a mobile number with country code for the lead guest. If you plan to continue to the Algarve or back to Lisbon, add those dates too.

Departure and onward travel
When the villa stay ends, many guests continue rather than fly straight home. A few nights in Lisbon or Sintra before the return flight works well, and so does a road trip south to the Algarve along the coast, which takes around two hours from Comporta depending on the destination. The driver can also return you directly to Lisbon airport for your private departure.
If your aircraft repositions to another airport, such as Faro, let us know early. We plan the final transfer to match, with enough time for the luggage and any stops on the way, so the end of the trip feels as relaxed as the arrival on the coast. Our team confirms each transfer time the day before, and the driver keeps in touch with the lead guest on the morning of travel.
