Itinerary

On this Belem (Lisbon) Private Walking Tour (3h), we will provide you the best introduction tour of the Lisbon Discoveries & Global Empire. This tour is recommended for the first or second day in the city, and will provide you with the best highlights of Belem neighborhood area. Although the itinerary can be adjusted during the tour, this is the standard/regular itinerary:

• Meeting Point at Belem Tower – Torre de Belem (10AM or 2PM).
• Learn the history of the Belem Tower, built 500 years ago, in the midle of the river Tejo (vist not included).
• Stop at Museu do Combatente, and learn the history of the brave Portuguese soldiers defending Portugal.
• See the plane two Portuguese Pilots used to fly for the first time the South Atlantic Ocean (1922), from Lisbon to Brazil
• Continue the tour to the Discovery Monument (Padrao dos Descobrimentos).
• Admire the amazing views overlooking the Lisbon Bridge and Tejo River.
• Learn the history of the Portuguese empire, one of the biggest empires in the world.
• Cross the road towards Jerónimos Monastery (Mosteiro dos Jerónimos) and Praça do Imperio.
• Learn the history behind Jeronimos Monastery, built 500 years ago, as the Masterpiece of the Manueline Architecture.
• Visit the Church of the Monastery (interior, except on mass celebrations).
• Sample a local custard tart (original pastry, founded un 1837).
• Before the tour ends, optional stop in front of the Presidential House (Palacio de Belem).
• End the tour.

During the day we will pass by different attractions and stop for pictures. Major visits inside attractions are not included on this tour, instead we will make shorter visits inside to maximize your time and see the most sights possible.
