Itinerary

The Full-Day Private Tour to Belmonte from Porto, will show you the top important places of Belmonte, the most famous Jewish Town of Portugal, land of Jewish communites that settled here more than 500 years ago, escaping from the Spanish Inquisition. Although the itinerary can be adjusted during the day, this is the standard itinerary:

• Pickup from your hotel in Porto
• Private Transportation to Belmonte (Approx 2h drive).
• Start the tour with a visit to the Jewish Museum of Belmonte.
• Learn the History of the Sephardic, the population that settled here 500 years ago.
• Continue to the Discovery Museum of Belmonte, and learn the famous history of the Portuguese, with strong Jewish Influence
• Stop for lunch in the area.
• Continue the tour top the Old Jewish Quarter of Belmonte, passing by the castle and the House of Cabral, the famous navigator who discovered Brasil
• Admire the old little houses of Belmonte, while crossing the Jewish Quarter.
• Stop at the Synagogue of Belmonte (Exterior visit only, interior visits not always possible)
• Finalize the visit of Belmonte passing by Centum Cellas, the old 2000 old fortification.
• Return to Porto (2hj drive), for drop-off at your hotel.
• End the tour.
